Congratulations to Holly Duval, October’s Athlete of The Month! Let’s get to know Holly a little better with some questions below.
What is your favorite TV show?
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I re-watch it far too much.
What is your biggest accomplishment since joining CFS?
I can do banded pull-ups. When I started I couldn’t hold the bar for more than 3 kip swings. I am going to lose the bands in November 🙂
Who is your favorite musical group that you would love to see in concert?
I would love to see The Gorillaz, easily one of the best concerts of my life.
What is your advice to new folks?
To trust in yourself. I was so much more capable than I realized. I was holding myself back from trying because I ‘knew’ I couldn’t. It takes patience and practice.
What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
I like kettlebell work, particularly Sumo Deadlift High Pull and Goblet Squats.
What is something most people would not know about you?
I listen to classic hard rock and metal. Big Black Sabbath fan, Ozzy by extension.
What is a fitness goal you have for yourself?
Complete Murph with a vest.
What is your favorite meal? Healthy and not so healthy?
Chicken Saltimbocca, with angel hair pasta – with too much cheese please. For a healthy meal, I like zucchini noodles with chicken and mushrooms in lemon garlic sauce.
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could have 3 things with you, what would be they be?
- Shakespeare’s works – “The Globe Edition”
- An album of my family + friends.
- A knife, I’m pretty crafty so a blade would go a looong way.
