Congratulations to Andi Frey , April Athlete of The Month! Let’s get to know Andi a little better with some questions below!

When and how did you get started with us? October of 2017, but I finally got serious about showing up regularly in May 2018

What is your biggest accomplishment since joining CFS? You know that Sunday we did the obstacle course WOD… I climbed the cargo net for the first time (with a ton of encouragement from Ken and Margie). Never thought I would do that!

What is your favorite CrossFit movement? Deadlifts

What is your favorite CrossFit work out? Something with deadlifts and burpees. Short people WODs are the best.

What is your advice to new folks? Don’t ever worry about modifying a workout. We all have strengths, weaknesses, and previous injuries. This life is a marathon, not a sprint, so take the time to establish a foundation of good form before adding weight or reps.

What is something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t gotten around to yet? Visit Australia and New Zealand.

When going to the movies what are your must have snacks/treats? I’m a Junior Mints kind of gal.

What is your favorite holiday and why? Thanksgiving. I love the cooking, the food, the family, and the chance to step back and appreciate life’s blessings.

What was your favorite TV show as a kid? Quantum Leap

If you were stranded on a desert  Island for one year and you could have these 6 things who and what would you pick:
1. Any celebrity to keep you company and why? MacGyver to help make a fire/water filtration system/boat.
2. What type of beverage? Downeast Cider to enjoy by the fire.
3. What type of food? My grandmother’s biscuits and gravy (you can take the girl out of the South…)
4. Tent or tree house? Definitely a Swiss Family Robinson style tree house
5. Matches or knife? Machete.
6. Sleeping bag or hammock? Hammock

What is something most people would not know about you? Prior to becoming a physical therapist I lived in Peru and Bolivia for a while. I worked with several indigenous churches in remote parts of the jungle, and knew elders who experienced first contact as kids.

Thanks for sharing Andi!
