Congratulations to Todd Robinson, August Athlete of The Month! Let’s get to know Todd a little better with some questions below.

When and how did you get started with us?
I joined CFS on 9/1/16.  I solicited feedback from friends who enjoyed the type of fitness that Crossfit at CFS brought them and decided that it was time for me to do the same after working out at a traditional gym for years with minimal results.

What is your biggest accomplishment since joining CFS?
So far it is a strict pull up for sure!  It took months of practice and I’m still amazed I can now do things that I couldn’t have dreamed of even 10 years ago.

What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
I love to row.  It is one of those movements in CF that gives a taller person an advantage too!

What is your advice to new folks?
Be patient with regard to goals and results.  With enough practice and hard work, even the toughest movements are achievable.  You have to be physically and mentally prepared to be a little bit better every day you walk into the box.

What is your lowest score ever in golf?
78.  There are many parallels between golf and CF.  As soon as you become proficient at one level of either, there is a way to scale each to make it harder for that next challenge.

If you could pick any 3 people to play in a foursome in golf with who would they be and what course would you play?
My son, my Dad, and my late grandfather on any course.  For me the camaraderie is just as special as the play.  I think having four generations together in a golfing foursome would be the coolest thing in the world.

What was your nick name growing up and how did you get it?
Robbie.  I forget which friend along the way coined it.

What are your top two favorite movies of all time?
Braveheart and Caddyshack.

What is your favorite holiday and why?
Christmas, because I am able to take time off and cook special meals for family.

If you were in a karaoke contest to win a million dollars what song would you sing?
You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’.  I’ve been hooked on that one ever since I first saw Top Gun.

What is something most people would not know about you?
I lived in Australia when I was 20.

Thanks for sharing Todd!
