We will be having Spartan team training on Saturdays @11:30 am.
The long range weather forecast is calling for sun and temps in the mid-to-high 70s. There was also mention of five inches of rain the day before, but they weren’t certain about that.
Come on and sign up everyone!
Way to sell it Ken! I won’t be able to join in on this one as I will be away that weekend, so you’ll have to wait for your opportunity to toss me over a 12 foot wall.
Aw man, I’ll be in Maine for a half marathon that day. I’m in for the Super in August though!
How advanced do you need to be in order to do this event? I still scale WODs as I’m only 3 months back to exercising. Can I still do it or will I just slow the team down?
I am curious about this too! I am definitely interested but still have to scale WODs. is that okay from a team standpoint?
I’ve always wanted to do one of these!
@ Nathan and @ Casey — the “Sprint” is between 3-5 miles long, although the first one I did was 5.8 miles. They’ll have 20+ obstacles of varying degrees of difficulty that range from climbing over walls, crawling under barded wire, carrying heavy/awkward things like buckets of gravel, a spear throw, monkey bar variations, a rope climb, a mud dunking wall, etc. (Google “Spartan Race” on YouTube to get the concept.) You are supposed to do thirty burpees if you fail the obstacle but it’s on the honor system so don’t sweat it. If you can run the 3-5 miles and have a sense of humor, just sign up and do it. You’ll love it. Generally people split up into groups as the race goes on. Its a great shared experience with the great CFS crew.
Casey you can absolutley do the Spartan. We have several different groups within the team and we all help each other through the race. No one is left behind.
Nathan you can do the Spartan! It will be fun!
Training on Saturday’s at 11:30!
John …. that isn’t fully true …. Danielle Goes left her husband bedind …. 🤣
Thanks Captain Spartan!

If I didn’t have to run so much….but I’m going to think about it!
I am in. Not exactly how the start times work, but 2pm was already sold out. I registered for 2:15 and it said our team will get the time the majority of the team registered for, so the sooner people get in, I imagine the earlier our time will be!
Come on Tracey! Woman up!
Spartan races are a blast! I think anyone at CFS can do this. It’s for fun and you can take it at a pace that feels right. Typically mud slows you down to an awkward shuffle anyway. I won’t be able to make this one but definitely want to do the Super in August.
OK – I just signed up 😬
I’ve done Fenway twice Ken…..but running + my knees = not a good combination. I’m trying to follow doctors orders, too. BUT, this is on my bucket list and I’m not getting any younger.
Lindsay Wagner ran pretty good on her bionic knees, but that was just a t.v. show. Do what’s best for you Tracey. But if you can’t do it you will be missed.
I just signed up for the 2:15 slot but will be crashing the 2 p.m. party.
Ken Earley — are you signed up yet?
I’m in Ken – signed up this morning. Jackie J too. We were heavily recruiting at the 5:30am this morning!
I’m in for the 2:15 start as well! Looking forward to a fun and brutal Spartan with a possible trip to Tree House Brewery before….?
i’m in 2:15 heat
I signed up for the 2:15 start. Rumor has it there might be a tailgate party after. Need some designated drivers …
Signed up for 2:15. I am in. Will be my first Spartan.
