Congratulations to Ted Phillips, December Athlete of The Month! Let’s get to know Teddy a little better with some questions below.

When and how did you get started with us?
I got started at CFS on May 22nd 2016. My brother-in-law had done Crossfit for about two years and had great results. Then Puckhead joined and let me know how great it was at CFS. I eventually gave in to the peer pressure and joined.

What is your biggest accomplishment since joining CFS?
This is a bit cliche but just having shown up for the last two and a half years. This is the longest streak of consistent fitness in my entire life.

What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
Double unders.

What is your advice to new folks?
Try to get to know as many people in the box as possible. It is an amazing group of individuals and everyone is super nice. I have made some great friends here at CFS and it makes working out fun.

What is your go to Emoji?
I am a simple man, my go to Emoji’s are probably the 😀or 👍. I am also known to go old school and break out a colon parenthesis.

What is your greatest fear?
Heights. I hate heights. I even get nervous if I am up too high on the rig.

What is something you have always wanted to do but haven’t gotten around to  yet?
Buying a motorcycle and cruising around New England. I have been told that I need to wait until the kids are a bit older to get around to this one.

What is your favorite holiday and why?
St. Patrick’s Day. No better holiday in Boston.

What was your favorite TV show as a kid?
Not really a show, but music videos on MTV. I use to watch them before school every morning.

What’s your zodiac sign? And do you think it describes you?
Capricorn – The symbol is a G.O.A.T. I’d say that’s accurate 🙂

What is something most people would not know about you?
My full name is John Theodore Phillips. While John is certainly a GREAT name, I’m not sure it has ever fit me. I think I will stick with Teddy Ballgame.

Thanks for sharing Teddy!
