Congratulations to Tyler Haberkorn, October Athlete of The Month! Let’s get to know Tyler a little better with some questions below!
When and how did you get started with us?
CrossFit was recommended to me by a close friend. I looked up boxes in the area and decided on CFS. I started with CFS on June 21st, 2018 with a free class, then did foundations with Hanna that the following week. I was hooked almost immediately.
What is your biggest accomplishment since joining CFS?
My biggest accomplishment would be how much my overall fitness has improved since joining CFS. A more specific accomplishment though is getting a ring muscle-up. I still struggle with them a lot.
What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
Clean and Jerk
What is your least favorite CrossFit movement?
Double-unders for sure! After double-unders, it would be Turkish get-ups. I honestly thought John made this movement up on the spot the first time I did them.
What is your favorite CrossFit workout?
The chief but Jerry isn’t far behind
What is your advice to new folks?
Everyone was there at one point. If you stay disciplined outside of the gym and show up progress will happen… but most importantly have fun with it!
What is something you have always wanted to do but haven’t gotten around to yet?
Running a marathon
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work and CrossFit?
I love spending time outdoors with friends and family. Among some of my favorite activities are golfing, swimming, skiing, and spending time at the beach.
What are your 3 favorite movies?
Good Will Hunting, Shawshank Redemption, and Molly’s Game
What is your favorite holiday and why?
Thanksgiving, the food is great, you spend time with your family, and football is on!
What is something most people would not know about you?
I am very afraid of heights and for that reason try to never look down when doing a rope climb.
Thanks for sharing Tyler!
Congratulations Tyler. You embody all that is CFS AOM. Good job!
And P.S. — there are mats under the ropes.
Congrats Tyler!!! Very well-deserved!! You always bring a great energy to class and it is fun to watch you get after the workouts!! No doubt this is just the beginning of what you will accomplish with CrossFit. I noticed you did not mention “assembling Lego pieces” as one of your talents 🙂
Well deserved! Always a big smile on your face:)
Well done Tyler! You are a pleasure to work out with. I’ll never forget spotting for you and being amazed by how much you totally crushed the bench press!
Congrats Tyler! Keep up the great work!
