Notes:
This workout begins with the dumbbells on the floor and
the athlete standing tall. After the call of “3, 2, 1 … go,”
the athlete may begin performing thrusters. After 4 reps
of thrusters are completed, the athlete will advance to a
pull-up bar to perform toes-to-bars. After 6 reps of toes to-bars are completed, the athlete will move to a jump
rope and complete 24 double-unders before returning to
the thrusters for the next round.
The athlete’s score will be the total number of repetitions
completed before the 20-minute time cap.
There is no tiebreak for this workout.

20.2 went even better than I could have hoped. Not registered so didn’t have to worry about proper DB scales.
With 30# DBs…350 reps
(10 rounds + 4 thrusters + 6 TTB)
TTB were all singles (even though my plan was knee raises or toes to rig) and my wrist felt fine.
Dubs were all unbroken after the first round (first time in years my timing felt right on those).

I haven’t been doing CF long enough to feel that I have a wheelhouse yet. Goats, on the other hand… jumping rope and anything with a hang are definitely goats of mine. I was tempted to do toes-to-rig, but decided that the 6 reps on the knee raises was low enough that I could do a few sets of those. My grip never gave out, so I didn’t have to switch to toes-to-rig and did all 18 rounds as knee raises. I also ended up making several of my rounds of single-unders without tripping on the rope. Progress!

I am not signed up but this was a great workout. [new] Matt was my partner and he was incredible at motivating me, whether it was applauding effort or encouraging me when I was getting tired. That 20 minutes seemed really long!! For Matt at day 3 of CrossFit, he did an amazing job, especially on his dubs! Melissa P was also crushing the dubs over on the side – I was in awe!! Great job to all in the 5:30 crew today.

First off, a huge thank you to Ilana for being such a patient and encouraging judge. I know it was just as painful for her to watch as it was for me to chip my way through the double unders. That said, I did manage to get 67 of them, so I will take that as my “win” for this workout. The dumbbell thrusters seemed to get easier as the rounds went on and the TTB were very quick…which only meant I found myself on the rope again. So, this was a classic mix of a goat and a wheelhouse (for me) with some thrusters. I am happy with what I did and most of all pleased with my attitude toward the workout knowing that it had the potential to become frustrating (feeding that good wolf!). Thanks Hanna!!
And you looked good doing it! I tried to channel your double unders, but apparently that did not work.

Thanks to Lisa for being my judge today! My goal was to try and not look at the clock as much as possible even though I was standing right in front of it. When I did look, I allotted myself a sip of water break and a chance re-chalk at the 5, 10, and 15 minute marks. That helped me focus since 20 minutes is long! I was happy with my grip strength for all of those knee raises!
67 dubs is amazing! Great job not getting frustrated with yourself – it can be easy to do. I have absolutely no doubt that you will continue to make progress on this AND have one less goat on the farm. That final goat is going to get lonely 🙂
Great job on your grip strength, Casey! In May that was something you were struggling with so you have made great progress in a short amount of time!
